I love shooting fashion and incorporating it into my portrait sessions, but every once in a while, I get to do an actual fashion shoot for local designers and retailers. This particular shoot was for the Timmy Lee Collection. Timmy wanted to have his pieces photographed at the lakefront in Kenner. I’d never been there before, but I definitely intend to shoot there more often. I love using my studio lights outdoors, but I didn’t need or want to use them this day. There was an overcast that made the sunlight so soft, even and beautiful!
We started with a lace bodysuit and fringe choker.
These, on the rocks with the mesh bathing suit cover, are my absolute favorites of the day.
More lace! This time, it’s a gown with a feather trim.
It was fun watching people’s reaction to the model and the outfits. One guy stopped her and asked if she was on a tv show. Doing shoots in public used to scare me. I don’t like drawing attention to myself, but I realize that people stop and watch for a minute and go on their way. Occasionally, people will, very politely, ask what’s going on and then ask for my business card. Once on shoot, a guy brought out his own camera and started photographing my client. I think he was a tourist, lol.
